The St John’s Singers

The St John’s Singersis a ladies’ choir, differentiating us from the main Church Choir.  Generally we meet fortnightly in the Clyde Room from 7.45pm until 9.30pm stopping for a tea/coffee break somewhere in the middle.  We meet after Sunday evening worship, but you are more than welcome to come along to this service beforehand, which starts at 6.30pm in the Clyde Room.

The ethos of the ladies’ choir is very much ‘singing for pleasure’.  We sing some songs from the musicals, songs from the charts, the occasional hymn, as well as some ‘fun’ songs just to keep it light-hearted.  Our gatherings are sociable, fun and entertaining - one member described it as an ‘aerobics workout for your voice’.

Around 90% of our group are St John’s folks, but other choir members represent the neighbouring towns and churches of Stonehouse, Larkhall and Motherwell.

We are always pleased to welcome new members….so please, don’t be shy!  The three main criterion for membership is that you enjoy singing; enjoy making new friends….and that you will take a turn at making the tea!!!
