‘Food for Thought 2019’  This year a lent discussion group ‘Food for Thought’ will meet for five Sundays beginning on Sunday 10th March at 5.15 p.m. in the Youth Room.  We will be using material called Eat, Pray, Share that allows us to reflect on the way we share round the Lord’s table under the five themes of:

Community
Commemoration
Covenant
Celebration
Commitmentlent-symbols

This is particularly helpful for us in Lent as we begin and end the season by celebrating the Lord’s Supper, first of all on the first Sunday in Lent and then again on Easter Sunday at both our 9.30 a.m. and 10.45 a.m. services.

Food for Thought will last for an hour and people can choose whether they want to stay on for the evening service on those Sunday which will further explore the theme of that week.

St John’s Mini Cubs
Mini cubs runs in St John’s on a Friday night from 6.00 p.m. -7.00 pm and has a very healthy attendance.  Unfortunately, our leader, Tony Carter, is retiring at Easter after 13 years of service and our thanks go to him for carrying out this role well for so many years. The remainder of our leadership team is continuing to the summer where after they too will be retiring. The leadership team is keen to get a new leader and support team in place before then to allow them to assist the new leadership team. We are looking for some volunteers to take on these roles and allow the mini cubs to continue. If you know of anyone would might be interested in getting involved with this active group, please encourage them to contact Lianne McInally, Julie Lamont or Colin MacLeod.
